How to turn ANYTHING into a white/chalkboard

Hi, everyone! Today I’m going to be teaching you how you can DIY any kind of notetaking board from ANYTHING. These DIYs are not only way cheaper than anything in a store, but some of these diys can be made from recycled materials you have at home. Depending on how much you want to spend, you can spend anywhere from no money, to about $20 to create your perfect board.

I love to make cheap and easy ideas. I know a bunch of my readers are coming from blogarama. If you are reading from blogarama, please come and follow my blog via email because I’m going to be giving a free online class for all of my WordPress followers, which will not be available for my blogarama readers. Also, if you want to win an exclusive class, (which will be distributed for three followers) please like this post and comment down below which was your favorite idea.

Did you know you can turn anything into a chalkboard or whiteboard? Unfortunately, you can’t make a chalkboard from recycled materials like a whiteboard, but you can still transform almost anything into a chalkboard! All it takes is a little bit of chalkboard paint which comes in a variety of colors or whiteboard paint in white or clear. This can be purchased cheaply at any craft store.

Calendar board

Want to make a timetable from your chalkboard? You can also do this with a whiteboard as well. Take some washi tape and tape apart seven sections by five sections. Then, you can write in the month and days, and you won’t ever have to buy a calendar again! You’ll waste less paper.

To-Do list board

You can turn any board into a to-do list! Lots of people love to-do lists because it helps them organize. Make little squares out of washi tape on the left for the checkbox. Then, fill out your task in the remaining space. Try not to make your washi boxes too big. You can check off the squares when your job is finished, or you can erase it altogether.

School/office supplies

Ever feel like your school supplies are boring? Do you change the content of your binders often? I do. I hate it when I have written the title on a perfect notebook IN SHARPIE then I modify the content, and I can’t take it off! So, why not cover your school supplies such as binders and notebook in chalkboard or whiteboard paint to stop the problem? You can also doodle on the cover for a cool effect.

Chalk/white board a la cork

Do you wish you could have a board where you not only have a way to pin up papers and pictures, but you can also write on it? Well, presto! Now you do because you can cover any corkboard with chalkboard/whiteboard paint. You will be able to write and erase it like any chalkboard, and you will also be able to pin up things.

Magnetic board

You can make a small board magnetic by buying magnetic strips. Or, if you don’t have any, you could try magnetizing a piece of metal yourself. You can also glue large magnets to the back of the boards. This will allow the boards to sit in lockers if you have one. The boards come in handy in these places to jot down notes.

Recycled whiteboard

You can make a whiteboard out of recycled materials you already have at home! Take any sheet of thin and flexible transparent or tinted plastic and cut a piece of wood, paper, or cardboard a slightly smaller size. To make your board a different color, paint the material that isn’t the plastic the color you choose or chose a material that already is that color.

You can also take a sheet of paper in any color you choose on top of wood or cardboard to make your board instead of painting or using an already painted piece of material.

For example, if I want to make a pink whiteboard out of wood 18 inches by 24 inches, I need a piece of plastic 19 inches by 25 inches and a pink piece of wood 18 inches by 24 inches. But DON’T paint the plastic as the board will not work if you do so.

Stack the plastic and other material on top of each other. Now fold the plastic edges under the other material and glue them in place. Do this on all four sides.

Picture frame whiteboard

You can also make a whiteboard out of a picture frame! To do this simply take any picture frame and insert a cute design, such as scrapbook paper. You can download some cool patterns to print out in a colorful PDF with 30 cool designs to choose from! Download it free here. You can just write on the glass, and it will work.

Locker Love – awesome locker products

Hi, everyone! Remember my locker haul? Well, I only put the pink products there. So what I’m doing in this blog post is rounding up several colors to help to set up a locker. This locker can be created for school, to keep your personal belongings safe, or to keep at work.

Stores have lockers in all colors and sizes. You can get a mini locker like this one, or a three-tier locker, like this one, or a lock box “safe bank” like this one, or lastly, a regular locker, like this one. So naturally, the first step is to buy a locker.

Well, the fun part now is decorating it (and buying supplies, haha. merp) You have to choose a theme color, and buy everything in that color. You can even buy your lockers in your theme color. Mine is pink. Here are some you should get:

  • Locker light
  • Locker mirror
  • Locker shelf
  • Locker magnetic holder
  • Locker whiteboard
  • Magnets
  • Locker wallpaper
  • Washi tape
  • A small makeup bag/pencil case for necessities.

Now, for the next several paragraphs will be links for all the items in different colors. You can read the sections depending on your theme color.

Pink

So, in this paragraph, I’m going to be showing you the pink items you can buy. This pink locker is stunning and goes with this pink rug. A pink locker chandelier can be found here. This locker set has the rest of your necessities. Find it here. Lastly, this pink washi tape set and this pink wallpaper and these pink magnets will make your locker so bomb.

Blue

In this paragraph, I’ll be showing you the blue products you can buy for your locker. This locker set and this blue locker match correctly. These locker magnets and this blue wallpaper will look awesome. You can find your blue chandelier and your blue locker rug here. This washi tape is so cute.

Purple

This purple locker and this wallpaper look so stunning together. I’m sure they’d look even better with this gold chandelier as there is no purple chandelier. This locker rug is so cute. Love the color. This purple washi tape and this purple locker set.

White and black

For this, please choose either the white of the black options, but some will be both black and white. This white locker and this white locker rug are so hot together. The white chandelier is great. This gold and white locker set covers almost everything else, including the wallpaper. I love it. This white and black washi tape set is excellent. This black locker is awesome with this black locker set look great. This black and white wallpaper and this black locker chandelier look like they were made to be put together.
Well, that was fun. (and tiring.) Setting up a locker after this is really easy. The locker wallpaper can just be stuck one, and since everything else is magnetic, creating my own pink locker (love it!) took five minutes. I hope you enjoy! Also, please comment what color you chose and why.

Calligraphy – a comprehensive guide

Hi, everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about a new hobby I found; calligraphy. Calligraphy can be made with any writing utensil ranging from a pencil, a ballpoint pen, or a brush pen designed for calligraphy. I’m going to be talking about all the different places that you can find calligraphy writing utensils and why I like calligraphy. I’ll also tell you why calligraphy is useful in your day to day life. The best part is that I’ll be sharing some products in the calligraphy field.

OK, let’s begin. You may be wondering what exactly is calligraphy, and why you should try it. Well, calligraphy is a fancy form of writing generally practiced with a brush pen. There is also faux calligraphy that is made with a regular pen. Calligraphy is pretty much a fancy form of cursive writing or lettering where you apply a heavier force on the downstroke to create an interesting effect.  Calligraphy has been rising all over the place, especially on Pinterest. I suggest you look it up.

Calligraphy can also be called hand lettering, brush lettering, or brush calligraphy. Basically, there are tons of names for the same thing. Calligraphy has lots of uses. It’s an ornate writing method that can be used day to day. That’s why I suggest getting a brush pen as this will be less time consuming than faux calligraphy.

Calligraphy can be used to write quotes or label the front of a letter to send in the mail. Calligraphy can also be used as a form of basic writing, as all it is is a fancy cursive font with dips and such. Just be careful that if you’re writing with calligraphy as a form of writing that you know how much your pen bleeds…

I was very into calligraphy a while ago, but for some reason, I never blogged about it. Well, I found that calligraphy utensils can be found anywhere. You can use a pen for something called faux calligraphy, which technically isn’t the same thing but produces the same results. You just need to write the letters in cursive, then thicken the down strokes.

This was what I’de been using for a while before I found alternatives. I found gel pens and multi-liners work best. But my favorite pen for this is my trusty Uniball pen. You can find it here if you want to try calligraphy at a lower price via faux calligraphy. These are also great all around pens, and art pens, so I suggest getting these anyways. I prefer them to multi-liners, but you can also use these Copic multi-liners that I want to try or these Pigma Microns that come with a brush pen for the later step. I suggest getting the Pigmas as they have a brush pen. (and a brush wanna be)

For brush calligraphy, I found a brush pen set I already owned, but I didn’t expect it. I found some sharpie fabric markers with brush pens. I was looking at the price on Amazon, they’re so much cheaper than actual brush pens! They’re really great, and luckily they don’t bleed. You can try them out here. These sharpies are other ones that aren’t fabric markers, and ones that I don’t have, but I think they’re a cheap price so I may pick them up. If you’re interested, find them here.

Now, for the fun part. The actual brush pens. The other day my friend saw my calligraphy talent and dropped a Copic marker in my hands. I immediately loved it. I will say, though, it’s hard to control the thickness as the brush is really soft. But you do get used to it, and when you do, they produce better results than the Sharpies. (although it’s easier to control the sharpies)

The Copics are expensive, but I love them. However, they bleed so much, it makes me sad. 😦 The copics also have a highlighter on the other end, which makes them even more desirable. But, the price is sky high. This 12 box is currently over $60! And this 72 box is over $200 dollars! However, a multi-liner brush is only $5. Find it here. Or the $10 gassenfude here.

I really want to try Tombow pens. I’m not sure if I ever will, but they look so good. They don’t bang your buck as much as Copics, and they look great. It’s $12 for 10 in a basic set, or $15 in a bright set. The bright set is here and the basic set is here.

In conclusion, I love calligraphy because of its wonderful look and effect. I sincerely think you should try it out, and purchase some of the products in this post. If you do, please tell me in the comments how you like them! I hope to so some of your wonderful designs soon.

I would like to try disk binding

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be showing you disk binding, and why I want to try it. I’m sorry this week’s post is going to be short. I just didn’t have anything prepared, and when I saw disk binding I thought, I’ll show the Craftalicious clan.

Before we begin, if you haven’t already, I suggest going to Sea Lemon on youtube, she has great videos for lost of bookbinding techniques and other cool things. I really, really love her channel.

You’re probably thinking, “what the heck is disk binding” Well, so did I. But, it’s really cool. You punch holes in your paper using this punch. and these black disks. Or these pink ones. Or these blue ones. Or these gold ones. I think the system is really cute, and you can make many books with them, (using one punch) but I think it’s a little bit expensive for what it is.

However, I’m sure this method will work because I have seen lots of planners that are made using the disk binding technique. I think I may purchase some rings and the puncher in the future, but for now, I will stick to a different method of bookbinding, that will show up in next week’s post.

10 things you value in a friendship

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be talking about 10 things I value in my friendships. Before I begin, I want to shout out to one of my closest friends who’s been reading my blog since it’s young days. She’s the friend you want to have. She makes me laugh and doesn’t care to loan me money. She spends lots of time with me and makes me feel loved.

I know she’s out there reading my blog right now, (you know who you are, fellow washi tape collector!) and I just want to say thank you. I’m devoting this blog to 10 things I notice and value from you and my other friends too.

So without further ado, into the blog, we go!

  1. If you look bad, she makes herself look bad with you. What I mean here is that whenever I do something ridiculous or stupid, she goes along with it and we make a huge joke out of it together.
  2. She knows how to make you laugh. Your friends know you in and out and know what will make you laugh, and how to do it. She wants you to have fun, and will do a good job making sure that happens.
  3. She will loan you money without caring if you give it back. Now I honestly can’t count how many drinks and desserts my friend’s bought me, but I know she never hesitates. A real friend will never hesitate to lend you money even if she doubts you’ll pay it back. I often do by buying her food in return, but not always and vice versa.
  4. She listens to you ranting about your hobbies and makes them seem really important even if they aren’t hobbies she personally likes, and may even try them herself. Your friend wants to know about you. She likes to know how you’re doing and what you do in your spare time.
  5. If you’re sad, she’ll do anything to make you happy again. She will make you laugh, buy you a drink, or even go with you to fix the problem. She will do ANYTHING to make it right for you.
  6. She will defend you from anyone. (example) Broke up? She will be right there and tell you how stupid your ex was for dumping you. They will make sure your ex gets payback.
  7. She will love your brilliantly stupid ideas. Magnetic calculator? Locker rug? Handsfree backpack? They will love your ideas and think they’re brilliant.
  8. She will be thankful for all you do. Even if you think you’re being a really selfish friend at the moment, she will assure you that you’re not, and be grateful for the tiniest gifts or jokes. She’s grateful for having you in her life and can’t imagine the world without you.
  9. She will reassure you that you are talented, loved, helpful, kind and the world would be bad without you.
  10. She will be your cheerleader. Your friend will go to your various events, and be your cheerleader. She will love all you do and be happy for you no matter what.

Well, I hoped you liked it, comment down below how many of these qualities you have!

How to make a sugar scrub XD

Hi, everyone! My computer was down for some reason, it wouldn’t let me got to some sites, I’m not sure why, so I couldn’t get onto Craftalicious to write. It’s because of dam Rawstream. Everyone HATES Rawstream, you can’t even remove it without it coming back and trying to get your information and to let you in. You can’t escape it because it locks you out of everything because you’re not letting it in. It’s even worse than Grammarly! You can read my review of Grammarly at my blog Schoolerama.Introducing Schoolerama – YouTube or here at Schoolerama

I was trying to remove Rawstream, but instead, it removed me. I hate you freaking Rawstream! I hope all the people who made Rawstream are reading this! I swear I’ll review Rawstream with 1/1,000,000 of a star. No, not even! 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 of a star!

Well, anyways, let’s get to it! Today we’re going to be making an excellent exfoliator scrub. This is the first blog post in the Beautify with DIYs series.

Answer each of these questions honestly:

Do you have acne?

Do you have dry skin?

Do you have oily skin?

Do you forget to take care of your skin every day?

Do you wear makeup?

Do you want to improve your skin, but you are sluggish?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, a scrub is right for you.

I’ve tried tons of recipes, but only one has worked perfectly for me. This scrub will exfoliate your skin leaving it baby soft! In fact, the kind of, “I’m so smooth I don’t need to shave” soft.

So without further ado; let’s go!

To make this you’ll need:

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla (optional)
  • Two teaspoons Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (optional)
  • Two tablespoons Coconut oil or any oil of your choice
  • ¼ cup to ⅓ cup Baking soda (for people with acne)
  • A few drops of an essential oil of your choice, like peppermint or tea tree oil (optional for an extra benefit, and for smell)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon (not for people with dry or sensitive skin, or before exposure to sunlight)

Yeah, I know, most of these are optional. But I like to use them all to give my recipe a little twist! You can whip up one of these for yourself, or double the recipe to make one for a friend as well. These make great heartfelt gifts I’m sure anyone would love! Before we start, if you aren’t using an ingredient, skip it and move on.

To make: measure and pour your sugar into a large bowl. Then, mix in your baking soda, ginger, and cinnamon. Mix well, until the spices and baking soda are blended in. Next, add your oils, lemon, and essential oils. Blend these in. Your sugar scrub should be a caramel like color, and be a very sticky paste. Don’t worry, it will harden to being like a soap bar.Now you can add your vanilla and honey. However, I warn you this step is going to be hard. You can wait to blend the ingredients until you have finished heating these up.

Now, you’re going to be heating these up. To do so, you can choose to either stick it in the microwave for 10-second intervals, stirring in between each one, or you can cook it at low heat in a small pan, mixing it as you go, for around two-five minutes.

While the scrub is still warm and liquidy, grab an empty mason jar, and start scooping the scrub in. The scrub may begin to bubble or separate, if so, remove the liquid at the top, as you won’t be needing it.

Leave the jar open, and let the scrub solidify. You could put it next to a window in the winter, or next to the A/C in the summer. You could also let it chill in the fridge. It just needs to have hardened before you store it.

When it’s dry, cap it and store it wherever you want.

To use, take a hot shower or bath. Then, open the jar and scrape your finger on the surface of the scrub. Some scrub should come out. Rub the scrub on your body. It’s natural for it to tingle or sting. This is because it’s removing your dead skin cells.

Bullet Journal Manual

Hi, Everyone! I know it’s been so long since I wrote a blog post, but I think it paid off! I wrote an instructable for bullet journaling called The Bullet Journal Manual – a Complete Guide to Bullet Journaling.

My old bullet journal ran out, so I started a new one. I decided to go through the process of creating and maintaining a bullet journal. So that’s how I created my manual.

I have it readily available for you as a PDF, Microsoft Word Document, or a Google Doc. I hope you enjoy it and that it helps! I love bullet journaling, so I want to share my love with you!

I know I’m not a great techy, so the documents will be scratchy and a little bit unprofessional, but I did my best to provide you with a high-quality document to help you on your bullet journal journey.

Get the PDF version here, the Microsoft Word Document here, and the Google Doc here.
